The development of the airport is divided into well-planned phases, ensuring capacity expansion based on long-term passenger and cargo growth projections. The Government of India and the Government of Gujarat have positioned the project as a critical infrastructure pillar for future economic development. Backed by approvals from aviation regulatory bodies, environmental authorities, and central planning agencies, the airport is moving steadily toward its construction milestones. Once operational, the Dholera New International Airport will not only reduce travel pressure on the existing Ahmedabad airport but also create a powerful aviation ecosystem for Gujarat’s industrial and commercial sectors. With advanced facilities, dedicated cargo zones, and provisions for future Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, the airport aims to support long-term growth, international trade, and global connectivity.
